Doesn’t it just feel great when you get stuff for free? Free t-shirts? I’ll take five. A contest to win a Macbook? I’m game. There’s even an eBay for free stuff now. Still, finding free stuff is tough because it isn’t easy to find all the great free offers on the web. More and more though, people have turned to Twitter to help me find those deals. How does social media marketing work? Well it’s very simple, you have to create a page on each social networking site that you know of and begin to network with other people on that social media site. By networking I mean “become friends” with others that have posted pages that are interested in the types of products you would like. For instance if you are selling jewelry then you would want to network with as many women as you can as women will be the ones interested in the jewelry.

How many followers do you have? How many facebook fans did your page bring in? How many RTs did you get on your last link? No. It’s not that these numbers don’t matter, but these questions are irrelevant if they’re not tied to an end. Social media isn’t an end. Being successful in social media isn’t necessarily success.  It doesn’t matter how well you do in terms of “social media numbers”. What matters is what you turn those numbers into. The end is the bottom line, it’s leads, it’s customers, it’s money .

People find interesting ways to “prove” that Elvis and Tupac are alive and that the Loch Ness Monster really exists. So we shouldn’t be shocked that some people are trying to do the same thing with the King of Pop, especially around what would have been his birthday. Earlier this week, a video surfaced on both LiveLeak and YouTube purporting that not only is Michael Jackson alive, but that he faked his death and left the Coroner’s van in perfect shape.
