I keep one of the most complete lists of upcoming conferences and events in the tech industry . Why? Because I have thousands of friends who report to me over on Yahoo’s Upcoming.org the various events that are happening. Even more come to me via the tagging and search features there. My friends who do tech events tell me they get a majority of their attendance thanks to being listed on Upcoming.org and on Facebook. If your tech event isn’t on my calendar, please do comment here and let me know your Upcoming.org URL and I’ll add it.
Lance Armstrong rides in Dublinoconallstreet.com

Lance Armstrong Tweeted the following this morning: Good morning Dublin. Who wants to ride this afternoon? I do. 5:30 pm @ the roundabout of Fountain Rd and Chesterfield Ave. See you there. At 5.30pm there were over 3000 cyclists waiting for the legend to arrive. The reports are he has brought the Park to a standstill. That’s the power of social media and proof that Lance Armstrong can ignite online debate. He is what we call in the business a ‘Mega Hub’. I just wish I could have been there.

The Enigma called Twittertelecomcircle.com

Nobody thought that Twitter would be so successful but then nobody had thought the same about SMS as well. The simplicity and non-intrusive nature of SMS made this paging like service popular amongst mobile users. Twitter brings together the conversation of social network and brevity of SMS to provide super fresh real time updates on the web. Success of Twitter confirms my belief that the future of social networking is on mobile. Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that enables its users to send and read messages known as tweets.

Lane shares his view of the world and opinions on movies, restaurants, activities and sites from a kid’s perspective. Recently through our connections on social media, Danielle and I have been introduced to Lane and his unique site, Kid Critic. Lane is twittering and can be found here. When you read what Lane is taking about you will be as amazed as we were to find out he is only 12 years old. Just image how he is changing the world now and what will he do when his voice matures and grows in strength.
Your Blog Is Your Mothershipmiproconsulting.com

Thought-provoking and spot-on post by Amber Riviere over at Web Worker Daily : Yesterday, I read the “Unconventional Guide to the Social Web ,” and although I found a lot of useful information in it, one quote has stuck with me since reading it: “Your blog is your mothership. Don’t neglect it for lesser tools.” This is an important thing to keep in mind when marketing your business online. There are tons of ways to build a web presence, including a variety of social media and networking sites, but nothing is as important as your blog .

Congratulations to our Creative Director, Henrik Olsen in becoming the new AIGA SF Interactive Design Chair. I’m really excited about this news, not only because he’s my boss… but how this will impact the organization. Since shifting gears from print to web a few years ago, I’ve sort of lost touch with the AIGA. Their programs really don’t speak to me anymore. They seem very print-focused and seldom touched on process and vision.

–> Can You Pounce On A Breaking News Event? Can you pounce on a breaking news event? Not everybody can, but if your subject has breaking news potential then you’d better be ready to take advantage of it.  Click here to continue reading. –> My Quandary = Your Opportunity You might have heard that the rights to my award-winning sixth book, Principled Profit: Marketing That Puts People First, got picked up by John Wiley & Sons, and it forms the basis for my eighth book, Guerrilla Marketing Goes Green (co-authored with Jay Conrad Levinson).

25Aug 2009 I remembered one of my friends telling me this – “What’s the big deal of Twitter? Who would really bother about the fact that you’re picking your nose in front of the computer? It’s just useless”.You can’t blame him because most teenagers out there have negative perceptions towards Twitter too.
