SmartyCard Launched
Every day I see a new company funded and wonder why, then once in a while I see a new site/service launch and think to myself “brilliant!”.

Welcome SmartyCard, whose new service that just launched today is Brilliant. Their service allows parents like me to have an alternative to the standard games our children find online. Their games, which you have to try, are educational but in a way that makes them just as fun as other games your kids would play online. And that is just the beginning, the child earns points as they play. Registration is free, however if you but a SmartyCard with points your child can then redeem the points they are earning. Points can be redeemed for prizes or for other sites that require points. For my kids I want to be sure they play educational games and this is working. In our house, since I set up a computer for each of my three boys, they are online quite a bit. I limit it but also like to teach them how to use them, this is ideal for me.

Currently the desired age is grades third to sixth. Give it a try.

Parents and children can enjoy this, you can play with your kids as I did, however the experience was better than I thought. On most sites I have to be close by to help the kids when they get stuck. However what was refreshing was that someone created the games with that in mind, and the multiple choice gave my kids the confidence to answer questions and not ask me every two minutes to help.
