In-Text Advertising
I tried in-text advertising on this site for months and just turned it off today. I have two sites running the ads and the more highly targeted (content) site of mine received a better eCPM however both were very low.
Therefore I have removed the In-Text advertising tags as they did not yield as much revenue as I had hoped and the bright color highlighting ad underlining was distracting to site visitors. An example is below.

I gave the inline ads a go as well. I even tried more than one place but just didn’t bring in much income that way. I also feel it made my blogs appear to be too busy with links throughout the posts which kinda makes a site ugly.
I have given Text-Link-Ads a try and I am much happier and have cleaner looking blogs.

I completely agree, the in-text seemed to be very distracting. With some variables on the implementation through their interface or code I may try it again. Variables such as: limiting the number of in-text ads that appear per page, modify their color scheme, choose a type of advertising to focus on (in other words if my site is finance related I would only want them to highlight finance related terms, or maybe I would want the opposite and not have finance terms highlighted).
But until those are available it is tough to use them when some pages are content rich and end up with multiple ads.

Hi Vered,
Thanks for reaching out. I did not realize those options were available. Let’s try it again. Please e-mail me, there is a link to my email in the footer of every page. I may need some assistance setting the options but let’s give it a try!
