Freelancers and Outsourced Programming at Scriptlance

One of my favorite sites to get any programming I need is Scriptlance. Scriptlance is a marketplace for programmers and those that need something programmed. I have used the site for years.

You can find programmers for everything from graphics, design for webpages, wordpress themes, drupal themes, wordpress modification, drupal modification, entire websites from scratch, database work, script installation, facebook applications, server maintenance, operating system upgrades, and more.

Employees and/or contractors to work part time or full time for an extended period of time are also available. Writers can also be found to write articles and other content.

If you can describe what you want created, simply join, post your project and watch the bids come in. You do not need to accept any of the bids and can cancel the project if you do not like the responses. There is also a dispute mechanism if you feel the programmer is not providing the service they stated they would.

A great feature is their Project Message Board. Those that bid can leave you private messages that the other bidders will not be able to view. The best use of the Project Message Board is to request to see their portfolio of work. If they claim to be able to create new Wordpress themes ask them to provide URLs of sites they have worked on.

Another feature is the total number of jobs they have worked on. You can see the description of the jobs they worked on and the ranking they were given. When each job is completed the requestor can rank the programmers work from 1 to 10. You may pay be escrowing the payment with Scriptlance and once completed you release the payment. This lets the programmer know you intend to pay them, the money is available, and once the work is completed you will release the escrow.

The programmers on the site are from all over the world. When you need some programming help, no matter how small or large, join Scriptlance.

  2. A great online marketplace site you should check out is ICanFreelance (http://www.icanfreelance.com). Many online marketplace sites have similar features, but ICanFreelance offers several advantages:

    1. No membership fees, ever. You set your own rates. We charge a 5% commission on what you make.
    2. Guaranteed payment for hourly work. Hours are automatically logged through our ICanFreelance Team software, and payment is guaranteed. (We offer a fixed bid option as well, but encourage users to go with hourly because of this added security.)
    3. Large project size. Our hourly projects work out to over $3,000 on average.
    4. Flexibility. Did you or the customer come up with a bunch of new ideas that will take longer than you expected? No problem—you’ll be paid for every hour you work, and with ICanFreelance Team’s regular screenshots, you can show the Buyer what you’re doing every step of the way.
    5. Tools. Our free tools make it easy to collaborate with your buyer and all your team members. Track tasks through Bugzilla and remember every change ever made to your files with our SVN source code repository.
